Africadelic in Pictures

Amsterdam celebrated Africa Day 2016 with an energetic Africadelic night with talks, art and music. Africadelic is an initiative by Otiniel Fernandes da Silva, better known as Mano, and his creative agency Mano a Mano Produções. Mano call himself a socio-cultural activist, cultural producer and curator. and divides his time between Luanda and Amsterdam.

The evening began with a state of the continent program hosted by Ama van Dantzig, featuring photographer Lard Buurman, Rob Perrée (Africalia), Film director Ivan Barbosa (Quba Republic), Micha Bruinvels (World Press Photo), Shahrzad Nourozi (IDleaks), Sivan Breemhaar (Afriek), and ZAM’s Bart Luirink.

Program continued with supporting act Paulo Flores, who had flown in from Angola, before headline Richard Bona & Mandekan Cubano entered the stage of a sold out venue. Cameroonian Bona and his band were rocking the grooves and found the audience immediately. After legendary Bona, the party continued on with a release party of Analog Africa’s new album ‘Space Echo’, dancing way into the wee hours.
