01.10-03.10.20 | Afro_Vibes 2020 — Entanglements

This year's edition of the annual Afro_Vibes festival has it all. It's not only corona-proof — performances on stages for limited audiences as well as live streaming online — the dance and music productions will take you to Senegal, Uganda, Tunisia, Ghana, the Netherlands and South-Africa.

The theme of the festival is both intriguing and well-chosen. 'Entanglements' will connect the inseparable - the worlds, the countries, the cultures and the people. ‘There is an unstoppable entanglement that embraces us all and of which we are all a part’, the festival artistic director Jay Pather (South-Africa). ‘In moments of physical isolation for our safety there is also a sense of community’.

So here you go Hamdi Dridi, Tunisian choreographer and hip-hop dancer, Babacar Cissé, Senegalese choreographer, Dutch Ghananian choreographer Henry O'Tawiah, Dutch choreographer Donna Chittick  and the Ugandese and Dutch dance scenes of DOX! We cannot wait to see your shows on stages in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. Check out the programme here.
