Call | ZAM is looking for a volunteer online editor for a webpage dedicated to Mandela100

Blog / By ZAM Reporter

Mandela100 is a global, yearlong programme celebrating Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday. In the Netherlands, ZAM is initiating and coordinating activities within the framework of Mandela100.

With Mandela100, we intend to encourage collaborations and activities set up by others as well. The programme will function as a starting point and resource for these initiatives and will fit directly within ZAM’s philosophy: ‘Building a World beyond Them and Us.’

Attached to its website ZAM will add a new webpage dedicated to the Mandela100 programme. This page will mainly consist of an agenda of activities – nationally and internationally – associated with Mandela100 and a blog. In this blog, ZAM wants to critically reflect on the meaning of Mandela's heritage in the here and now.

The editor will actively research events to be included in the agenda and produce updates on a weekly basis. The editor will also write blog posts for the Mandela100 webpage and edit and proofread blog posts from others. These contributions can range from short essays and book reviews to interviews and coverage of events.

We need you to be available at least one day per week for the period of a year, starting soon.

The agenda will be in Dutch and occasionally in English, the blog will be mainly in English and only sometimes in Dutch. So you should be able to write and speak fluently in both languages.

You will manage the webpage Mandela100 alone or with a colleague. Therefore, having worked with a CMS is a must, knowledge of Joomla is an advantage.
