In the fifteen years of our existence, ZAM has developed a unique solidarity model that connects internationally renowned artists and African changemakers and creatives. The artists donate work that ZAM offers to its subscribers, followers and sympathizers. The proceeds from sales enable us to move up with our African colleagues in new research and productions. Meanwhile, Marlene Dumas, Anton Corbijn, Zanele Muholi, Berend Strik and Ruan Hoffmann joined the Art for ZAM initiative. Dutch art collector Fred Leferink is now following in their footsteps. In the fall of 2021, he donated several dozen works from his collection to ZAM. Together with a recent donation of a work by South African photographer Nontsikelelo Veleko, they are part of a catalogue.

In de vijftien jaar dat we bestaan heeft ZAM een uniek solidariteitsmodel ontwikkeld dat internationaal vermaarde kunstenaars en Afrikaanse changemakers en creatieven met elkaar verbindt. De kunstenaars schenken werk dat ZAM aanbiedt aan zijn abonnees, volgers en sympathisanten. De opbrengsten uit verkoop stellen ons in staat om met onze Afrikaanse collega’s op te trekken in nieuwe onderzoeken en producties. Inmiddels sloten Marlene Dumas, Anton Corbijn, Zanele Muholi, Berend Strik en Ruan Hoffmann zich bij het Art for ZAM initiatief aan. De Nederlandse kunstverzamelaar Fred Leferink treedt nu in hun voetsporen. In het najaar van 2021 schonk hij enkele tientallen werken uit zijn collectie aan ZAM. Samen met een recente schenking van een werk door de Zuid-Afrikaanse fotografe Nontsikelelo Veleko maken ze deel uit van een catalogus.
