Can you take our social media engagement to the next level?
Are you passionate about social media, full of creative ideas and do you have a heart for social justice, equality and freedom? Then we are looking for you! ZAM is run by a small, dedicated and hard working team that believes that the hardcore prejudices and broadly ingrained perceptions about ‘Africa’ are up for revision. What better than examine the everyday realities of a hugely diverse continent through the eyes of African investigative journalists, photographers, artists, writers, commentators and rebels? ZAM enables the investigative and creative journeys of such African changemakers and presents them to audiences worldwide. Our motto: Building a World Beyond Them and Us is the driving force behind all our activities. Currently, we are looking for a social media volunteer who wants to help ZAM’s online community grow.
What are you going to do?
Create cool Instagram stories and stimulating, creative posts for all our social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) that center on the ZAM motto, invite our supporters to interact, come up with ideas to make our channels more visually attractive and bring attention to our publications (e.g. the ZAM newsletter). As an organization that encourages inventiveness you’ll have a lot of space to develop new concepts and implement them under our supervision. Besides the aforementioned, you’ll also respond to questions and comments from ZAM’s audience on our social channels.
Who are you?
- At least a 3rd or 4th year MBO/HBO student, preferably on a course in Media and/or Communication or a study in the area of Creative Business
- knows how to utilize social media to engage with an online audience like no other
- has experience with content creation, both in image and text
- dares to think differently in terms of content creation aimed at fostering conversation
- has affinity with social justice, equality and freedom and with culture, arts and writing
- finds pleasure in working with people in media
- knows how to design content via Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- is available for at least 8 hours a week (the ZAM studio is located near the Haarlemmerplein in Amsterdam. Yet working remotely is optional).
