Girl Power

Events / By ZAM Reporter

Friday the 22nd of September the Amsterdam Bijlmer Parktheater and Rooftop Promotions present Lamentations@12.

In one more week the first actors, dancers, visual artists, fashion stylists and poets from South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Congo will be arriving at the Afrovibes festival.

In December 1987, more than 300 South African artists came together in Amsterdam to perform on the cities’ stages and to discuss culture as they imagined it, in a free and democratic South Africa in the future.

If in Amsterdam, please join us for the official opening of “Pride and Loss.” This 'visual documentation' of South Africa's LGBTI activism, curated by Lerato Dumse, presents the works of Boitumelo Nkopane, Collen Mfazwe, Lebogang Mashifane, Lerato Dumse, Thembela Dick and Velisa Jara.
